Shredded paper is accepted in the mixed recycling bin if it is enclosed in either a paper bag or cardboard box, such as a shoe box.
Don’t put loose shredded paper in the recycling bin. Small pieces of paper cannot be sorted at the recycling facility, as it falls through the machinery and goes to landfill.
